Frequently asked questions:- How much will it cost? As you would expect, an individually tailored, Australian made garment is generally going to be more expensive than an off the rack imported one. However, our prices can compare favourably with prestige labels and your garment will be unique. Dress prices start at $300 and an evening dress is likely to cost from $500 to $800. Can you give me a firm quote? We will organise an initial no-obligation consultation with one of our dress makers. This will allow us to understand your exact needs and the complexity of the garment you are looking for. At this meeting we will give you a firm quote for making your garment. Our prices include minor haberdashery items such as zips, shoulder pads, interfacing etc. but do not include fabric and lining. Do you supply fabric? We don’t supply fabric but our dress maker will be pleased to advise you on suitable suppliers as well as the quantities required. How long will it take? At Sew Quick we aim to meet your timeframes and on occasions garments can be completed in a day or two. However, a more reasonable timeframe is 3-4 weeks which allows reasonable time for work and fittings to be scheduled. At some times of the year there are peaks in the demand for our services and more notice is advisable. October, November and April are often busy periods. Can you advise me on styles? We invite you to discuss style, fabric and colour options with your dress maker prior to purchasing your fabric. If you are unsure about the style that might suit you, you may prefer to consider a similar off the peg garment. Remember, we can still do the alterations that might make your purchase perfect! How many fittings are required? There will probably be two fitting before the garment is complete but this might vary. What if I change my mind? You should try to be as clear as possible about your finished garment at the outset. Small changes can often be accommodated but late and/or significant changes may have a big impact on the time it takes to make your garment and there may be additional charges for such alterations. You will always be advised in advance if this is the case. How is payment required? A 50% deposit is required before work commences with the balance due on completion. Payment may be made by VISA, Mastercard, Bankcard or cash. Important tips. · Please collect and try on your completed garment a couple of days before that big event – just in case some final alteration is needed! · Please remember to bring the shoes and bra you will be wearing with your new garment to your fittings. |
